About me:
I am an enthusiastic actor and have had a passion for the performing arts since a young age.
I studied Drama at GCSE and received a Grade 5, and am currently studying RSL Acting in college, as well as Sound Engineering and English Literature. Both of these have provided me with either additional experience in technical aspects of theatre such as sound design, as well as better analytical skills through my studies of plays that allow me to better understand and interpret scripts.
Experience:
Stage Acting:
Part of Ensemble in 2018 school production of “High School Musical”
Enid in “Legally Blonde”
Part of Ensemble in 2023 college production of “Rock of Ages”
Torvald in my RSL Acting performance of "A Doll's House"
Mum and Lori in my GCSE performance of "Leaves"
I am also a member of the New Wolsey Theatre’s Young Company, which has enabled me to participate in workshops such as for Clown and Shakespeare, and develop and broaden my acting skills.
I was previously involved in the Junior Stowmarket Operatic and Dramatic Society for two show runs: "Legally Blonde: The Musical", and a centennial concert in which I was part of the ensemble.
I have also participated in a workshop led by actor, director and musician Mella Faye for her play “Oedipus Electronica”, which has helped me to develop my skills on working creatively as a team.
Screen Acting:
I have not yet got much experience in acting for the screen however in February 2020 I did a short workshop with Pauline Quirke Academy, where one of the mediums we worked on was acting for the camera. I also have experience with recording myself for acting assignments and being filmed whilst acting onstage.
Additional Skills:
I am currently taking classical singing lessons, and although I have not done any formal gradings, I am currently at a Grade 8. I do plan to take a music grading in the foreseeable future. I am also a member of my college’s choir and covers band. My experience in these clubs, as well as my experience in musical theatre, has provided me with experience in singing, harmonising and projecting.
I have some skill with playing guitar and bass guitar.
I am also studying English Literature at A-Level, which has allowed me to work on my skills in analysing scripts and texts, improving my understanding of them.
Timeline:
Below is my timeline for each step of how I will generate my income for the jobs I have discussed in the PowerPoint presentation.
From September 2023 to June 2025, I plan to attend all lessons in RSL Acting, and aim for a Distinction in my final grade. I can do this by working hard and making sure I attend all lessons to stay on track. I also plan to thoroughly research and confidently apply to drama schools and universities of my choice, as well as backups.
From 2025 to 2027 I plan to study stage acting and/or screen acting in drama school, to develop my knowledge and experience in this field, and enhance my skills. I will work hard during these years to leave school with a degree in my chosen subject.
From 2027 onward I plan to work on my skills in acting and develop my career. I will need to get a job to support costs of living and take every opportunity I can to make connections in the industry. I will continue to develop my knowledge and experience in acting and look for roles in theatre and theatre troupes to join.
